The Fiscal Transparency (FiT) Program envisions a future where partners and stakeholders systematically disclose, access, and analyze fiscal disclosures and use them in national and local public budget, policy, and planning processes.

About the FiT Program

The Transparency (FiT) Program aims to empower local partners and stakeholders to systematically disclose, access, and analyze fiscal disclosures and use them in national and local public budget and policy processes.

 

Overall, FiT aims to:

  • Increase the accessibility and openness of fiscal data to stakeholders using user-friendly tools

  • Visualize selected PFM information published by government agencies in a simpler and more

understandable format which can be used by the executive, legislature, oversight institutions, and civil society in data analysis to monitor the budget and resource allocation, and support decision-making, policy formulation, and audit processes.

  • Strengthen the capacity of selected stakeholders to monitor and analyze fiscal and performance data using digital tools;

The Spending Monitoring and Results Tracker (SMaRT) is an online tool, currently in prototype version, developed by GDI that aims to promote evidence-based policymaking by making financial and non-financial data more accessible and understandable
